Roof Replacement – Fire Camp 8 Admin Building (Malibu)

BACKGROUND:
Remove and replace the admin building roof at Fire Camp 8. Prior repairs and roof

SCOPE/OBJECTIVES:
A. The contractor shall provide all parts, equipment, and labor necessary to install an Atactic
Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) type roof per the job walk and Scope of Work below.
B. The Contractor is responsible to pull and pay for all applicable permits and/or licenses
Work on the project shall not start prior to receiving the permit.
No final payment will be issued without the signed and approved copy of the permit.
C. All work shall comply with the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD)
Specifications and all applicable codes and regulations. The Contractor is also
responsible to ensure that all sub-contractors have also read the Scope of work and
LACoFD Specifications.
D. The contractor will be required to provide daily updates to the LACoFD Project Manager
1. Description:
This project will involve the following tasks:
• Remove existing roofing down to roof decking, including flashing and mastic around penetrations
and equip, etc…Roof is approximately 5345 square feet.
• Inspect roof decking and repair as necessary. Assume 100 sq feet of decking replacement for

• Install underlayment, vapor barrier, insulation, TPO roofing system.
• Install new flashing throughout to include penetrations, HVAC. Install new pressure treated wood
sleepers for conduits and required equipment. Remove old vent fan and roof over openings.
2. Daily Clean-up and Duties:
A. All demo & construction debris will be removed from the sites each day and the facility left
Do not track dirt and debris off site. The driveway and walkways are to be swept and
kept clean and free from loose nails and debris. The station dumpster may not be used for

3. Bid Alternate:
SBS roof material in place of TPO.
Minimum requirements: bidders must attend the mandatory job walk and hold a C-39 Roofing and/or B General Building Contractor license. Bid alternate: SBS roof material in place of TPO. Roof area approximately 5,345 sq ft.
